Installing a WordPress theme is easy. There are 3 ways of installing WordPress themes. We will cover all 3 of them in this post, so lets begin.
Theme Search:
- Login to your WordPress admin panel.
- Navigate to
Appearance>Themes>Add New. - Type the name of plugin in search bar and click
Install. - Click
Activateafter the theme has been installed.
Note: This way you can only install free themes from WordPress Theme Directory.
Theme Upload:
- Login to your WordPress admin panel.
- Navigate to
Appearance>Themes>Add Newand clickUpload Theme. - Choose your theme.zip file from your pc and click
Install Now. - Click
Activateonce the theme is installed.
Note: Using this method you can can also install premium themes that are not available at WordPress Themes Directory.
Theme FTP Upload:
- Extract the theme from zip.
- Upload it via FTP to
wp-content > themesfolder. You can check out our post on how to upload files via FTP.
