NASA International Space Apps Challenge is going to happen in 5 major cities of Pakistan this year from 18th-20th October 2019. NASA Space App is the hugest global hackathon that occurs over 48 hours in cities all around the globe The teams of technologists, scientists, engineers, physicists, designers, coders, programmers, entrepreneurs, problem solvers, idealists, creative minds, artists, musicians, mathematicians, historians, educationalists, lawyers and students works with NASA open data in designing innovative solutions and to develop answers to some of the most pressing global issues and problems. It’s really amazing what ideas and solutions people from various backgrounds come up with. Space Apps 2018 included over 18,000 participants at more than 200 events in 75 countries across the 6 continents.
The World Needs Ideas and Solutions To The Global Challenges:
NASA Space App brings personalities from diverse backgrounds and fields to produce open source solutions through code, conception, visualization, design, hardware or an app in 48 hours. It gives the chance to engage with publicly available NASA data to design and present innovative solutions for global challenges of that year specifically. Part of the Open Government Partnership, Space Apps is an annual event that pulls citizens together regardless of their background or skill level. It’s not just about apps! They tackle a challenge using robotics, data visualization, hardware, design and many other specialties! They inspire each other while learning and creating using stories, code, design and, most of all, their ideas. They display problem-solving skills and share their talents with the world!
Who Can Participate?
Anyone, absolutely anyone can participate. Work alone or with a team to solve challenges that could help change the world and get the chance to be recognized as the biggest problem solver of the world. Team RaheQamar is making this hackathon consecutively for the 3rd time in Pakistan and this time in 5 major cities of Pakistan that includes Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad. Team RaheQamar is excited to continue the tradition of inviting students and professionals, beginners and veterans from all corners of the globe to join in.
Why NASA does holds Space Apps:
Space Apps introduces problem-solvers worldwide to NASA’s free and open data. NASA missions to Earth, our Sun, Moon and solar system, and out into the universe – all gather data in pursuit of new knowledge, to expand our understanding through new scientific discoveries, and to help us to improve life on Earth. By using NASA data to solve each year’s challenges, Space Apps teams learn about NASA’s data, and share in the creation and application of the knowledge that results. NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of government collaborators and 100+ local organizations.
This Year Challenges:
This year there are 5 challenges that comprise:
- Earth’s Ocean
- Our Moon
- Planets Near and Far
- To The Stars
- Living In Our World
Many of this year’s challenges require participating teams to use and incorporate NASA data. These data represent some of the most complex and diverse Earth and space science datasets, and are acquired from satellites, telescopes, aircraft, field measurements, and numerous other programs.
Register yourself for the most exciting challenges and become a world renowned problem solver.
